How does the HomeSell Pro differ from a private sale?
HomeSell Pro provides a dedicated licensed agent who handles all aspects of the sale, including property appraisal, pricing advice, marketing, buyer follow-ups, negotiations, and sale paperwork. The only thing we ask you to do is handle property viewings.
What additional marketing exposure does HomeSell Pro offer?
As a HomeSell Pro client, you receive greater exposure through additional marketing avenues that are not available to private sellers, such as realestate.co.nz, oneroof.co.nz, and homes.co.nz.
How is HomeSell Pro different from a traditional real estate agency?
HomeSell Pro offers the same benefits as a larger corporate agency, including premium marketing exposure and experienced licensed agents, but at a fraction of the cost. We include more property documentation for a smoother sale. One key difference is that our sellers generally walk buyers through the property themselves, allowing our agents to focus on buyer follow-ups, negotiations, and sale documentation.
Will my property gain as much exposure as it would with a traditional agency?
Absolutely! Our marketing includes prominent street signage and exposure on all major New Zealand property websites such as Trade Me (Gold level), realestate.co.nz, oneroof.co.nz, homes.co.nz, and homesell.co.nz. We also leverage social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram to reach thousands of additional potential buyers.
Does HomeSell Pro list commercial properties and businesses for sale or manage rental properties?
Currently we focus on residential and lifestyle property sales. We’ll let you know if this changes.
Costs and fees
How much does HomeSell Pro cost?
HomeSell Pro charges a flat fee of $11,500. You can choose to add optional extras such as Auction, hosted viewings or extra marketing if you wish.
Are there any hidden costs?
No, there are no hidden costs, and our fees are inclusive of GST.
Do I pay upfront or when the property sells?
You pay $1,500 upfront as a contribution to marketing (plus any optional extras), and the balance is paid only upon a successful sale.
How does this compare with a traditional agency?
Most traditional agencies charge between 2-4% of the sale price, plus marketing costs, admin fee and GST. Check our or fees comparison calculator to see what you’ll save and imagine what you could do with the savings!
Selling process
Do you offer appraisals prior to listing?
Yes, we provide a detailed appraisal for your property with comparable sales/listings, and it's obligation-free.
Can I sell by Auction or Tender with HomeSell Pro?
Yes, we offer both Auction and Tender as methods of sale. On-site auctions generally cost around $850 as an extra upfront fee and we can offer online auctions as well.
How long does it take to get my property on the market?
The process typically takes about a week to complete, including the appraisal, agency listing agreement, AML checks, photography, and designing the marketing campaign.
How long will my property take to sell?
The time it takes to sell your property depends on various factors, such as market conditions, chosen method of sale, property presentation, and pricing. HomeSell Pro's average sale times are similar to industry averages.
Will I get the best price for my property?
Our experienced agents work hard to achieve the best result for your property, utilizing various strategies like multi-offer situations, auctions, deadline sales, and negotiations to ensure the best price and most suitable terms.
Who will show the buyers/inspectors through the property?
Generally, our sellers show the property to buyers and open up for inspections. Our agents focus on buyer follow-ups, negotiations, and paperwork, while providing tips and advice to sellers for property viewings.
What if I am unable to show buyers through myself?
For an additional $2,500 on your success fee (only payable on a successful sale), HomeSell Pro offers a 'Hosted viewings and opens' option in many areas, where our agents will handle property viewings for you. Contact us for more information.
Is there an agency listing agreement and can I cancel?
Yes, we have you sign a sole agency agreement, usually for the standard 90 days. However, should you choose to cancel for any reason, you can do so at any time. We simply ask for 7 days notice in writing.

How long has HomeSell Pro been around?
HomeSell Pro was founded in 2018 to provide a professional low-cost option for sellers who prefer agent assistance or simply don’t have the time or inclination to sell privately.
How does HomeSell Pro differ from other low-fee real estate agencies?
Most other low-cost agencies have their agents do everything a traditional agent does for less money, making it hard to attract good agents. HomeSell Pro agents are focused the skilled part of the process; appraising, buyer follow-ups, negotiations, and paperwork, while you host property viewings yourself. This allows our team to sell more properties for a fairer fee.

Our licensee salespeople and agents have at least 5 years of industry experience. The HomeSell Pro system allows them to handle a higher number of properties, providing them with greater experience and more confidence to handle the variety of situations that can crop up during a sale campaign.
Do HomeSell Pro agents carry the same duties and responsibilities as other agents?
Yes, our agents carry the same duties and responsibilities as other licensed agents.
Will the HomeSell Pro agent meet me in person?
If your property is convenient to one of our agents, they will usually arrange an in-person visit, otherwise they will provide an online appraisal using video call walk-throughs, property photos and property data.

What is included in the upfront marketing fee?
Our comprehensive marketing package includes property sale documents (LIM, title, rental appraisal plus S&P Agreement), professional photography, floor plan, well-written listing descriptions, high-profile marketing on top property portals (e.g., Trade Me, realestate.co.nz, oneroof.co.nz, homes.co.nz), targeted social media campaigns, custom street signage, open home kit, property e-brochures, and access to your customer dashboard, My HomeSell.
Can I customize the marketing options to suit my property?
While our marketing package is usually sufficient for most properties, we offer a range of optional extras such as aerial photography, virtual tours, online upgrades, and more. Contact us for further details.
Can I use my own professional photos or LIM report?
Yes, if your professional photos meet our standards, you can use them. We generally prefer to order a new LIM report to ensure it's the latest version, but we can consider using an existing one if suitable.
How long will my marketing last?
There is no time limit on your marketing.
